Asia Explorer Travel - Cambodia has been nominated for the finalist for receiving the prestigious The Tourism Alliance Awards 2009 for award: Inbound Travel Operator Specialist of The Year 2009. The first annual award ceremony has been held in Phu Tho Stadium, Ho Chi Minh City on Oct 1, 2009.

The TAA 2009 celebrates and recognizes the brightest tourism stars in Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam, as the tourism industry is playing an increasingly important role as a major contributor to the economies of Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam.

10 categories covering a wide spectrum of the important facets in the tourism industry, including restaurants, domestic and international airlines, outbound and inbound travel operators, spa operators and hotels.

“This is a great opportunity for organizations to be recognized as a successful company with service excellence and to benchmark against other top tourism service providers.” said Ms Rosalind Ng, Managing Director of IIR Exhibitions.

The TAA 2009, co-organized by Vietnam Tourism Association, Cambodian Association of Travel Agents, Cambodia Hotel Association, Laos Association of Travel Agents and IIR Exhibitions Pte Ltd and supported by Vietnam National Administration of Tourism; Ministry of Tourism, Cambodia and Laos National Tourism Administration, marks a significant milestone that represents the commitment on the part of the three countries to improve the quality of service for their tourism and hospitality sector.

Travel Expo To Honour Excellence

An award recognising excellence within the tourism industry in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia will bepresented during the fifth annual International Travel Expo (ITE) in Ho Chi Minh City in October.

"This new award builds on the cooperation between our three countries, acknowledge our tourism potential, " said Nguyen Phu Duc, chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association.

"It also complements the three Countries - One Destination concept launched this year ad the theme of ITE 2009," he added.

The Tourism Alliance Award competition will be organised by the Institute for International Research (IIR) Exhibitions, Vietnam Tourism Association Cambodia Association of Travel Agnets, Cambodia Hotel Association and Laos Association of Travel Agents.

"We believe the ward will instill a greater sense of pride and achievement among professioals representing our country." said Soukaseum Bodhisane, vice chairman of the Laos National Tourism Administration.

Managing Director of IIR Exhibitions Pte Ltd Rosalind Ng said the award would encourage further improvement in tourism training standards and helps enhance service quality.

"The wards provide a benchmark for best practices in the industry." said Luu Meng, president of the Cambodia Hotel Association.

Participants are required to submit a form that requires self-assessment through a detalied questionnaire.

Winners from each of the 10 award categories will be announced at a gala dinner on October 1.

ITE 2009 will be held on October 1-3 at Phu Tho Exhibition Centre in HCMC.
